The BFI supports film and screen culture, moving-image heritage, public access, research, education and eligible screen-sector development within United Hampshire.

It is not Ofcom, Havenstead Broadcasting Service, Government Communication Service, a cinema licensing authority or a real-world film classification body.

No HRC predecessor is asserted merely because an older media, scenario, recording, creative or development team produced or stored moving-image material.
